No Creativity In Homecoming

Spirit week is usually something students at Animo Pat Brown look forward to but this year most students did not participate in the activities.

Homecoming was boring this year because students find that activities are being repeated, junior Grecia Hernandez said, “I didn’t dress up during spirit week because the dressing themes were the same ones from last year.”

Student council should ask students what they want and should keep the themes that people dress up the most and change the ones students dress up the least.

“I don’t like Wacky tacky day its boring and always repeated, I would like to see a change in spirit week like maybe a go green day,” junior Eddie Valdez said.

Another reason students at APB are spiritless is because many students didn’t go to Animo Jacky Robinson to support the football team. APBs new cheerleader squad was is in serious competition with AJRs.

“I don’t really like going to the other school because the people over there want to do things their way and we can’t do or say anything over there because its their school,” cheerleader and junior, Yesenia Gonzalez said.

People don’t have school spirit because there wasn’t a Homecoming dance, “The homecoming court wasn’t treated as properly as last year in the homecoming dance,” Yesenia said.

Students felt disappointed because the previous year the school was able to have a homecoming dance and this year that was not possible.

“Student Council should plan out activities ahead of time and be more organized,” senior Luis Garcia said.

Many students didn’t participate in the hall decorations due to the inaccuracy of Tuesday’s announcements which stated that hall decorations would be on Tuesday when in reality they were held on Thursday.

It is not just Student Council’s responsibility, however, students should also volunteer their time and get informed about the activities going on.This year “few students participated and nobody cared for it.”

APB will be a better place for students and staff if school spirit were improved because students would be more involved and more supportive of their school.
