    Spring Break

    Spring+Break

We all know that spring break is around the corner, and as soon as the bell rings students will run out of the class excited for Spring Break to start. There is so much to do in so little time in the two weeks we are given. Most students will probably be catching up on sleep, spending time with their families, or just staying in catching up on their favorite television shows and movies.

Some students might think more homework will be given since we have 2 weeks off which might be stressful because people just want to have fun and not do homework. Everybody is looking forward for Spring Break especially students and teachers because teachers need their break as well.

It all goes back to the ancient roman times, it was usually celebrated in Tandem, the city in Rome. It was known as period of fertilization and awakening. It’s also known as Easter Vacation, Easter Holiday, and March Break e.t.c. Spring Break started in the early 20th Century which it all started with college students and going on road trips or for a swim at the beach. Spring Break was known as a time period for students to take a deep breath and rest from all of their studies.

Spring break is around the corner and it’s really exciting because it’s two weeks off for students at Animo Pat Brown and there’s so much to do during our break and homework is not part of it. People usually want to sleep in and hang out with the family. Others just hang out with their friends and try to overcome the heat.

Things to do in Spring Break:

    • Watch Movies that are coming in break
    • Have a BBQ with family in your backyard
    • Go to the beach enjoy the sun
    • Go camping with friends and family
    • Get a part time job to earn your own money
    • Get lots of sleep because we all love and need sleep
    • Go horseback riding because its fun
    • Go fishing to catch fresh fish and enjoy the nature
    • Homework so you would not be stressed when coming back to school
    • Go on college visits so you can learn more about college

Spring Break is a time for fun and especially a time to get rid of all the stress we get in school. Finals are around the corner in May, and this is a good time to be worried free. As soon as we get back to school we start preparing and hitting the books even harder. For juniors we have SAT soon and for seniors the stress is even bigger. Teachers have lots of work to grade and prepare us for finals. It’s stressful for everyone and people should take advantage of these two weeks of fun.

Some students already have made plans for spring break and are ready to run of out of this school. We interviewed students about their plans for spring break and what they plan to do. A junior from APB, Alan Transito said, “I would go out with friends, get a part time job, and have fun”. Another student was asked, Kayla Michel said, “Go to the beach and party!” Spring break is to be having fun, not to be lazy all day in your bedroom.

Students always get to do things they want to do but never have time to do because of school, for example, senior Jose Ruiz said “Students will be able to enjoy certain hobbies they don’t get to do during school ”. He also mentioned how he will be visiting the campus UCLA and spend lots of time with his family.

A teacher and a student was asked about two weeks of spring break, and if it was sufficient time for them was Ms. Mehl. She said, “No, two weeks is fine” and student Monica Hernandez said, “ Yes I need a month of no school”.

Many people believe two weeks is a perfect amount of time because our school usually had one week off. Two weeks is perfect! So go grab a surfboard or a beach towel because the waves will be waiting. Get up and do some hobbies, maybe basketball or soccer. Try something new like taking a culinary art class or a music class. Spring break is here and it’s finally time to kick back and enjoy this lovely heat.
