During a recent Senior Assembly at Animo Pat Brown CHS, a chair broke during an intermission game, turning a routine event into an unexpected spectacle.. Senior Emely Villalobos shared her experience

“I find them pretty boring  and I was sitting by myself,” stated Senior Emely Villalobos from APB.

Emily was a senior who attended this event who was at the back of the gym when this occurred not having the best clear view that is why i also interviewed someone closer to the incident.

Ashley Hernandez, who was sitting closer to the action, said, “It was really fun and entertaining because there were many activities.”

From the reaction and the statements of the students just spectating there were many mixed emotions in the Assembly whether it was going to be an exciting assembly or a boring one. But that is why I also had to go to some running events that day.

On that day the student council was running the events/activities for that assembly. I was able to get an exclusive interview with the Vice President of School Spirit, Mareeli.

Mareeli stated “Thought it was going good and that people were excited and there were a lot of participants “ From her perspective she was thinking that the assembly overall was going great and the Seniors were enjoying the Games.

But something that no one expected happened. Two contestants began to fight for the chair as the both tried sitting the chair collapsed and could no longer stand. 

Everyone in the gym let out an audible gasp that left the whole gym in silence. That’s when the laughter began. The silence that once was became a lion’s roar of laughter from every direction.

Ashley Hernandez said “I was very shocked and it was very unexpecting and also I  was laughing because I was in the front row so I saw it clearly” She was shocked by what had occurred but was also amused. 

Similarly to her Mareeli Huerta and Emely Villalobos had similar reactions to the breaking of the chair when I interviewed them. They had a sense of confusion and shock at a chair breaking during the assembly but just like everyone else they were humored by it breaking. Similarly to them I was there too and I can agree I was shocked but also dying of laughter.

When asking them a follow up question whether they thought that something similar would occur during the next event or assembly and they all hoped or expected for it to happen again for their own reason whether if planned or copying to be the next OBed  but overall they found this little incident quite interesting.  

Well, we just have to wait and find out whether something similar is gonna happen next time and whether it will be as good or better or worse than this time.
