The wait is over, finally Star Wars episode 7: The Force Awakens, is in theaters. Many people and APB students have been waiting for this film for years. The Force Awakens goes 30 years into the future after the Death of Darth Vader and the disappearance of Luke Skywalker. The next generation, Rey and Finn, the new characters of this trilogy, are on a mission to find the missing piece of the map to find where Luke is hiding with the help of new robot BB8. Kylo Ren, son of Leia and Han Solo, has taken over and joined the Dark Side following his grandfather, Darth Vader’s footsteps wanting to destroy the last Jedi, Luke.

Several APB students and staff were asked to share their opinion on the film.

APB student Adrian, is a major fan of the series that went to the premiere. He said, “Honestly, I loved it, it was a great introduction to a whole new series of the franchise”. He also added,” I would rate it a 9.25 because they brought back old school favorites like the Millenium Falcon”. He stated his least favorite part was the end because it was too dramatic. (If you have not yet seen the film, you have no idea what you’re missing).

APB student Esteban, also went to the premiere, “I liked it, it was okay but in my opinion, I think it was made for the new fans”. He also adds,”I would rate it ⅘ because if I would rate it a 3 it would make me a fake Star Wars fan”. He stated his least favorite part was when Ray starts to use the force. He thought he picked it up to quick while Anakin took 2 movies to pick it up.

There’s also people who did not watch it. APB teacher, Ms.Bruski, is not a fan of the series. She states that, “I’m just not interested in sci-fi stuff but I have seen some of the other Star Wars films”. She added that she’s not into those kinds of films.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens, was a huge success being rated a 8.5/10 by movie reviewers. Many people enjoyed the film and fans are eager to find out what happens next. Manohla Dargis, New York Times writer, clearly proposes a good review on the film “The big news about “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is — spoiler alert — that it’s good!”. New York Daily News writer, Ethan Sacks, also left a good review stating “New director J.J. Abrams unleashes the full power of George Lucas’ original “Star Wars” trilogy”. Although there were critics who thought otherwise, they will not be mentioned for the sake of the Star Wars fanatics outrage.
If you have not yet seen the film, start saving up money because you don’t know what you’re missing. *Spoiler* You’re missing out on some pretty awesome scenes.
