Although it may appear that we have outgrown cartoons, it is always refreshing to take a look back in time and re-watch all the cartoons we used to enjoy. Whether you want to remember the good old days or are looking for something childish and easy to watch, here is a list of possible cartoons to binge.
Arthur
Arthur is a young aardvark who goes through many childhood problems such as bullying and doing homework. Throughout the course of the show, Arthur faces these problems with the help of his friends. Arthur is worth watching, or re watching if you want to be reminded of the encouraging relationships between friends and family.
Ed, Edd, and Eddy
Ed, Edd, and Eddy is about the adventures of three outcasts scheming to get money for jawbreakers. However, problems always arise, whether it be their plan backfires, or someone gets in there way. They deal with ‘average’ teenage problems from family to girls, and often humiliate themselves in front of everyone. Follow along with their journeys for jawbreakers, and try to figure out what is under Edd’s hat.
Recess
Theodore Jasper “T.J.” Detweiler, Vince LaSalle, Ashley Spinelli, Mikey Blumberg, Gretchen Grundler, and Gus Griswald are six fourth graders at 3rd Street Elementary School, who fight for their rights against anyone trying to oppress them. This takes place during recess, much like the title of the cartoon, where they create their own society with rules, authorities, and systems of regulations. This show, when closely watched, evokes thoughts of topics such as defying social norms, what to value in life, and developing valuable relationships.
Kim Possible
Kim Possible is not an ordinary high school student. She goes to school during the day, and saves the world from supervillains at night. However, she is not alone. She has the help of her friend, Ron Stoppable, his pet Rufus, and a webmaster named Wade. On top of fighting evil, Kim Possible also copes with the pressures of school, friends, and family.
Danny Phantom
After a surprising accident between the human world and the “Ghost Zone,” Danny Phantom becomes a human and ghost hybrid. Through this accident, Danny possessed a variety of supernatural power. With these powers, he saves his town from ghost attacks with the help of his two best friends and his sister.
Ren and Stimpy
Ren and Stimpy are a dog and cat duo, who were created for entertainment purposes. It was discontinued and taken off of Nickelodeon due to its appropriate content. If you are looking for a quick humorous show to watch, this may be a good choice.
Teen Titans
Teen Titans leader, Robin and his team members Starfire, Raven, Cyborg, and Beast Boy work together to protect the earth from the new generation of villains. Even though the Teen Titans are busy fighting crime, the show does an excellent job of also incorporating the members’ own struggles with adolescence and friendships. Although Raven has no powers, the rest of the members possess different abilities. Starfire can fly and shoot blasts of energy called “starbolts”, Raven possess psionic abilities, Cyborg has incredible strength, and Beast Boy can shapeshift into animals.
CatDog
As in the name, Cat and Dog are a mutated duo, who have opposite personalities. Cat, much like many cats, is more level headed and reasonable, while Dog has big hopes and dreams that are impossible. This series follows the journey of these opposite being who are stuck together, and battle with conflicting ideas, though only one thing can be done at a time.
Rugrats
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to see the world in a baby’s point of view? This cartoon follows the lives of four babies and their older cousin as they face the challenges in life that they don’t understand. The imagination of these toddlers is put to use when taking ordinary tasks, and transforming them into surprising adventures that make the show entertaining to watch. This show definitely gives the audience a good laugh.
Dragon Tails
Dragon Tales revolves around the two siblings, Mary and Max. Everyday, an enchanted dragonstone transports them to a fantasy land full of dragons. Here, they befriended four talking dragons, Ord, Cassie, Zak, and Wheezie. The siblings help their dragon friends in fulfilling their quests and daily problems, which teaches them important morals.
Codename: Kids Next Door
Known by their code names Numbuh 1, Numbuh 2, Numbuh 3, Numbuh 4, and Numbuh 5, or Nigel, Hogarth, Kuki, Wallabee, and Abigail, this show illustrates the adventures of five spies who work in a tree to fight evil. Unfortunately, the biggest threat to these kids, is age because once they reach 13, their memories from operation Kids Next Door will be whipped, and they will grow on never of what they use to do. However, there are several KND members in the past who escaped, much like what this this groups hopes to achieve. All in all, if you are looking for an action packed kids show to enjoy, watch Codename: Kids Next Door, and figure out if this group we’re able to make it out with their childhood.
Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends
Created to mimic two dogs in a foster home, this show revolves around a boy named Mac, who regularly visits a foster home of children’s imaginary friends reside.Throughout the show, Mac faces the challenge of making sure to come everyday so that his imaginary friend Blood, who his mother made him get rid of, will not be adopted. Here, one can learn the true meaning of friendship to children, and a young boys crush on a staff member’s granddaughter.
The Grim Adventures Of Billy and Mandy
The story begins with the From Reaper losing to limbo against two children who he is now forced to befriend, a cynical girl named Mandy, and a cheerful out named Billy. The two friends now have the Grim Reaper at the palm of their hands, to do anything they wish. Watch The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy to experience the progression of Death progress with two children.
Chowder
Chowder is a boy who works at a catering company, where he often gets in trouble for eating the food, and being mindless. Simply, it is about a chef teaching a student’s, who he is unable to control, yet always forgives him. Although it is more so for a younger audience, Chowder can teach valuable lessons of listening skills, and you can let Chowder chowder you up with love.
Ben Ten
Ben 10 revolves around a young boy who gets a hold of an alien device that allows him to transform into 10 different alien creatures. He uses these powers to fight the evil from earth and space.
