On September 5th, 2023 the film “Priscilla” directed by Sofia Copolla was released, a biographical drama that centers on the life of Priscilla Presley, particularly her relationship with Elvis Presley. The film is based on Priscilla’s memoir, Elvis and Me in 1985.

The story follows Priscilla’s life as she moves from being a teenager in Germany to becoming the iconic wife of Elvis, capturing the complexities of their relationship. The film explores the tension between Priscilla’s desire for independence and the overwhelming influence Elvis had over her life. Regarding their relationship they had a big age difference, Priscilla was 14 years old and Elvis was 20 years old. 

Their relationship began when Elvis hosted a party and Priscilla was one of the guests to attend. They rapidly fell in love not caring what the age difference was. Although their relationship was not approved by their parents, that did not stop them. When everything was going perfect and with no complications, they got married, had kids but months later everything started going downhill. Beaulieu starts feeling lonely and uncomfortable with the relationship they had. Since Presley was a singer, actor, and in the military they had never had time to see each other. After the journey Priscilla went through she decides to divorce Elvis because it wasn’t the relationship she had imagined and wished for.
