Over the weekend the 12th -13th allegedly young men broke into the school and stole the volleyballs.
The school had around 18 to 20 balls to use for lunch and girls volleyball.
According to Mr. Reed the principal the young men who did the act were not from APB and probably not even in high school.
This is an act that affects the girls volleyball team and people like the upcoming guys volleyball team. During their practices, they do not have enough ball for everyone to use and practice with.
According to Mr. Reed when he was asked what his reaction was he stated – I think it’s really sad. The teachers and staff of APB work hard to make sure our students have all of the materials they need to be successful and happy in school. The APB staff wants the best school experience for our students.
According to Briana the girls volleyball team setter she states – it’s hard to do practices where not everyone has their own ball and it makes practice go slow and it is not the same feeling of intensity .
He also stated that – I see this break in as really disrespectful to our school community. This was a crime against our students.
Although the alleged corporates haven’t been found the school has done numerous things to catch them and conducted a police report.
According to Mr. Reed, “Everything that happened was caught on camera. We filed a police report and did our best to help identify the people on camera. None of them were APB students.
Thought of a motive came up. Why would these people do this act especially at a school and just steal balls?
Mr. Reed was asked if he thought there was a possible motive he stated, “It wouldn’t be appropriate for me to guess what they were thinking when they did this. I’ll just say I think it is very sad.
The school is doing everything to catch the alleged culprits who stole Mr. Reed stated – We filed a police report and are cooperating with the investigation. The school is seeking to press charges against the people involved.
Wondering what the school can do to improve security or improve doors to stop people from breaking in and allegedly robbing.
Mr. Reed said – I am working with our district security and facilities team to see what additional security systems can be put in place to prevent this happening again. We are considering upgrades to various doors, gates, and windows, but nothing has been decided yet.
