Gnomeo and Juliet

 

If you like Romeo and Juliet then you must watch Gnomeo and Juliet! This movies delivers a similar plot as the play but this time they are the forms of garden gnomes. Both couple have family feuds that live in different gardens of colors which are red and blue. These lovely gnomes go through obstacles and a journey to be together throughout the movie. Why is this a great movie to watch? Aside from the the lovely dovely plot, it’s funny which can make you laugh quite a few times and it’s a movie that you and your partner can watch while eating.

Just Wright

 

Queen Latifah and Common are the main protagonist of the movie and created a movie that just suits Valentine’s Day. This movie has a great plot to it that makes pleasant and sad to watch at the same time. This take place in New York were Leslie Wright meets basketball player Scott Mcknight which they fall in love after a coincidence meeting and it goes from there. Throughout the movie there are conflicts but also solutions which makes you feel emotions. Why is this movie a Valentine’s movie? This is because there are some scenes that make you laugh and be ‘aw’. Overall this movie has great view on love and it’s recommended to be watched.

50 First Dates

 

50 first Dates is an excellent movie to watch during Valentine’s day, it has a great plot that will keep the audience at the edge of their seats.  Awwing at Adam Sandler’s every move as he falls for Drew Barrymore. Henry (Sandler) lives in a Hawaiian paradise, spending every night with a beautiful tourist in search of an island fling. It’s a sweet peaceful life, until he meets Lucy (Barrymore). He and Lucy hit it off from the get-go, but the next day she acts like she doesn’t know him. Actually, Lucy has short-term memory loss, caused by a impactful collision she experienced in her past. So every night all memory of her day is erased. But Henry, a man in love will go to any lengths to win over the girl of his dreams.

10 Reasons Why I Hate You

 

This movie is classic, starring  Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles. This movie is about a pretty, popular teenager who isn’t allowed to date until her ill-tempered older sister does. Patrick Verona (Ledger) is bribed to go out with with Katarina Stratford (Stiles), however it goes downhill from here. They fell in love!! This movie provides the audience with both romance and hate. No one wants to watch a movie that is too cheesy! *cough* *cough* The Notebook.

The Vow

 

The Vow is another great movie to watch this Valentine’s Day. The 2012 Film centers around protagonists Paige and Leo as they struggle to rebuild their marriage after Paige lost her memory in a car crash. It’s a heartbreaking and emotional film appropriate for Valentines as it relies heavily on the subject of love and how far these characters will go to restore their relationship. Winning a Golden trailer award and being nominated for numerous others, this is a quality you wouldn’t want to miss out on.

Dirty Dancing

 

A well renowned classic, Dirty Dancing is no exception when it comes to being one of the best love stories ever shown on cinema. Coming from a privileged background, Francis Houseman falls in love with a dance instructor by the name of Johnny Castle during her resort stay in the Catskill Mountains. Despite their clearly different backgrounds they fight to stay together although many oppose their relationship and end up having to face many hardships along the way. An overall exceptional film, Dirty Dancing is a must watch this Valentine’s Day.
