Pop-star Kali Uchi’s, started her new U.S tour called Sincerely that I believed was a major hit. Kali Uchi’s album was very meaningful to her and her supporters, this album was created to support all the people in the latino community as well as to show her stages through her childhood and motherhood.
Her tour started off in Portland Origin which started off well. As the weeks went by it was getting closer and closer to her tour in Los Angeles which was one of the days I was going to attend. I heard that many of her fans were going all out in their outfits for her concert. And I was very excited and had high expectations.
On August 21st in the Kia Forum was her second day in Los Angeles. That was the day I was attending, I was very nervous in a good way because I didn’t know what to expect. As we got there many people were in line for merch. And as I was walking I was seeing peoples amazing outfits, everyone went with the theme of her album. It was organized very well and I didn’t have trouble finding my seats. As I got to my seat there was already a band that Kali Uchis brought to her tour while her fans were waiting for her concert to begin. The band was really nice. I never heard about them but their performance made me more excited to see Kali Uchis.
Finally, Kali Uchis came out and everyone stood up and cheered very loudly. She started off with one of her new songs “Heaven is a Home” and it was amazing. As the tour went on something I noticed was that a lot of her songs were slow so not many people were moving around; they were just recording, and I noticed when she played more upbeat songs people seemed more hyped. Which was something I wish she would have added which was more upbeat songs. However, the songs she played were good and I enjoyed it.
I also didn’t expect her to bring anyone out but she did, she brought out SZA and I was so shocked I didn’t expect it. When she came out the crowd cheered so loud and it was so fun being able to hear Kali Uchis and SZA. But the main thing that shocked me was during one of her breaks she played a video regarding everything that is going on with ICE. I did not expect her to do something like that, it was so meaningful to many people that went. It honestly almost brought me to tears knowing how she spoke up about this because it meant a lot to me and I am sure to a lot of other people as well.
Overall, her concert was amazing and I had an amazing time. I would definitely recommend it to people that are considering going. I feel like that little part of speaking up about ice really meant a lot to me and I will always remember her concert for that. I feel like she gained a lot of supporters for speaking up. But despite her speaking up her performances and visuals were amazing and did better than what I was expecting. I would definitely go to another concert of hers.
