PHILADELPHIA — Oct. 6, 2025 — The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 1-0 on Monday night at Citizens Bank Park to win Game 6 of the National League Championship Series, capturing the pennant four games to two and advancing to the World Series.
“This game was really intense from start to finish,” Dodgers infielder Kiké Hernández said in a postgame interview with MLB Network. “Both teams gave it their all, and every call mattered.”
The game stayed scoreless through six innings before the key play came in the top of the seventh. With one out and runners on second and third, Hernández hit a grounder to shortstop Trea Turner, who threw home as Teoscar Hernández sprinted toward the plate. The home-plate umpire ruled Teoscar safe, and Philadelphia challenged.
After a 2-minute, 7-second replay review, the call on the field stood: Teoscar’s left hand touched home plate just before catcher J.T. Realmuto’s tag.
Dodgers starter Tyler Glasnow was dominant, throwing seven shutout innings with nine strikeouts and four hits allowed. Evan Phillips and Alex Vesia combined to pitch the final two innings, with Phillips earning the save. Phillies starter Zack Wheeler allowed one run on six hits through seven innings, striking out seven.
“I was upset, but if the umpire saw the play carefully like they should, then they made the right call,” Phillies manager Rob Thomson said in his postgame press conference, via MLB.com. “You can’t be upset with the call because they’re professionals at the end of the day.”
Philadelphia went 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position and stranded seven runners overall. The crowd of 44,731stayed through the replay delay, and Statcast clocked Teoscar Hernández at 28.5 feet per second, barely beating the throw by 0.12 seconds.
“We just stayed locked in and trusted each other,” Kiké Hernández said. “It’s about believing in the team and keeping the focus no matter what happens.”
The Dodgers advance to face the Baltimore Orioles in the World Series, which begins Friday night at Dodger Stadium.
