After the “unfair election,” whom Trump won. People took action and decided to protest, a peaceful protest. Wondering why they did this? To get the message out, not only for themselves but for their parents as well. One student says, “We decided to do the walk out in a peaceful manner because, the use of destruction doesn’t hurt them, it hurts us because it’s our own community we are destroying.”
Some students and staff may think otherwise towards this act, but students have their own views about this situation. An anonymous source says “I participated in the walk out because not only are we sending out a message, but we are also doing something that can hopefully make an impact in society.“ Many students felt as if they were a part of a revolutionary movement when they did the walk out. Many realized that when people get together, anything could get done be done. Brian Aguilar, an 11th grader at APB participated in the walk out and he said, “When we all got together, we felt as if nothing could stop us, although it was peace, in a way, it was also very meaningful.”
Another anonymous source seems to agree with brian as he/she said, “Demonstrating that we are united and potentially make a change in some type of way.” The walkout brought the community together and if and these kids have their say on why it mattered.
