Miley’s new single, “Wrecking Ball”, is extremely different from her last single, “We Can’t Stop”. In the song, Cyrus focuses on her emotions due to the recent drama with her fiancée Liam Hemsworth. Allegedly, Hemsworth has been unfaithful to Miley since February of this year with actress, January Jones.  Could this alleged affair be the reason why Miley has been acting so different than her past self?

Miley seems to express all her heart ache in her latest song. The song’s video has become Cyrus’ latest controversy, even topping her 2013 VMA performance. In this new video, where the singer bears all, Miley swings around on a wrecking ball and breaks walls with a sledge hammer.   The song’s controversial video broke the Vevo record for most views in 24 hours with an astonishing 19.3 million views, 5 million more than the last record holder, One Direction’s Best Song Ever at 13 million views. In an interview, the video’s director Terry Richardson stated that Miley’s nudity symbolized  her naked emotions and vulnerability. What do we, at the Gryphon Gazette think?
